What are the negative consequences of Apple's decision to only allow the apps to be purchased

The consequences to Apple, on the surface, may seem to be a loss of business to them, or a loss of a huge income, considering the Asia market to be so large. However, piracy may be a serious issue. And this could bring even more consequences to Apple.

Accordingly to a normal layman's perspective, Apple's decision is merely a stupid decision, who would not yield them more income. However, with the rate of piracy in Asia, there may be a possibility that Apple could be sued, for it being the most original source of the piracy done. For example, piracy is extremely common in South-East Asia. Taking a look at neighboring countries, or even Singapore herself, you mya notice the amount of people using torrent to download different softwares, music albums, movies, and much more. There are even some programs on the internet, that allow users to view movies, drama series, or variety shows by just downloading it. This actually shows how piracy thrives in asia.
